Abstract

In this manuscript, we revisit  the 1915 Superintendent manifesto by Stanford University’s Ellwood P. Cubberley who defined “new profession.” We look at the changes that have transpired in the last 104 years and redefine the Superintendence.  Included in this journal is Cubberley’s original manifesto which now part of the public domain in the Superintendent Journal. Today, Cubberly’s word’s stand true that the new profession at the time would play an important part in the development of American life. The article is included in this issue towards TSJ’s work on amplifying the Superintendent voice and to redefine and reimagine the profession itself.
